Work Based Learning

By Frank | August 5, 2008

During the second half of 2005 I worked in collaboration with the Galway Chamber of Commerce on a unique research project for the cities business community. This research, centred on the subject of work based learning, with a particular emphasis on adult basic skills in particular. The results, findings were published in the form of a statistical report and an Employers Handbook. These documents were presented at the first ever Work Place Learning Seminar held in the Westwood Hotel, Newcastle Galway on Monday the 29th November 2005. This event included the use of a case study presentation delivered by Mr Brendan Fox of Galway City Council, while other contributors on the day included: Michael Coyle, CEO, Galway Chamber of Commerce Frank Monaghan, Principal, Prospects Learning, Pauline Rossie, Workplace Basic Skills Network, Lancaster University Helen Ryan, NALA
